Race Report

RACE-3 THE BUENOS AIRES RATING 85-55 (CLASS 2) 1800 METRES (184)

1 Sacred Magnate (L Corrales) -Leaving the 300 metres shifted out slightly and brushed 4 Circuit Miles. Approaching the 100 metres shifted out slightly under pressure and bumped 4 which at the same time shifted in slightly under pressure.
2 Yuanno (K H Yu) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages.
3 Snow Storm (S H Huang) -For some distance leaving the 1000 metres raced tight to the inside of 2 Yuanno until near the 900 metres where it was checked when that runner shifted in when insufficiently clear. Then approaching the 800 metres had to be steadied when racing fiercely on the heels of 2 Yuanno which lost ground when being settled by its rider to allow 8 Star Of City Gold to cross.
4 Circuit Miles (W H Lao) -For some distance leaving the 800 metres raced fiercely. Leaving the 300 metres brushed by 1 Sacred Magnate which shifted out slightly. Approaching the 100 metres shifted in slightly under pressure and bumped with 1 Sacred Magnate which at the same time shifted out slightly under pressure
5 Beauty Bolt (S Nakano) -Leaving the 800 metres when the pace of the race slowed had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 4 Circuit Miles.
6 Lucky Double (C L Cheung) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Pearl Green (Apprentice Tesuri) -Jumped away awkwardly. Leaving the 800 metres when the pace of the race slowed had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 6 Lucky Double.
8 Star Of City Gold (M Tanaka) -Bounded on jumping away. Leaving the 1200 metres raced fiercely on the heels of 2 Yuanno and was then allowed to stride forward wider on the track before obtaining the lead position near the 800 metres.
9 Yiucheung Champion (K F Choi) -Raced wide without cover from the 600 metres.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 900 metres where 3 Snow Storm was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 3 Snow Storm (S H Huang), 8 Star Of City Gold (M Tanaka) and 2 Yuanno (K H Yu). Jockey K H Yu the rider of 2 Yuanno pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 900 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 3 Snow Storm which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey K H Yu’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 racemeetings covering the meetings of Friday, 13 May and Saturday, 14 May 2022. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account his riding record, his guilty plea, the degree of interference and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
