Race Report

RACE-4 THE BANGALORE RATING 70-45 (CLASS 3) 1200 METRES (246)

1 Circuit Master (B Yamzon) -Was marginally slow to begin. Near the 250 metres was checked.
2 Luen On Prosperity (L Corrales) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Association Eight (T Appie) -Was resaddled behind the barriers. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider dropped his whip near the 300 metres.
5 Partners' Fortune (S Nakano) -Near the 900 metres was eased when taken outwards by 3 Association Eight which shifted out when not fully clear. Jockey T Appie the rider of 3 Association Eight was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
6 Sheng Tong Glory (S H Huang) -Was marginally slow to begin.
7 Winnie Star (Apprentice X C Liang) -Near the 250 metres after being struck with the whip, shifted in and then had to be steadied away from the heels of 1 Circuit Master which at the same time was taken out by 4 Great Honour which shifted out around 10 Rubick Kingdom to obtain clear running.
8 Hostwin Shadow (W H Lao) -For some distance approaching and passing the 800 metres raced fiercely.
9 Draft Camp (M Tanaka) -Raced wide rounding the home turn.
10 Rubick Kingdom (H Lam) -Blundered severely near the 300 metres.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 250 metres where 1 Circuit Master was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 4 Great Honour (C L Cheung) and 1 Circuit Master (B Yamzon). Jockey C L Cheung the rider of 4 Great Honour pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 250 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of 1 Circuit Master which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey C L Cheung’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 racemeetings covering the meetings of Sunday, 24 July and Saturday, 30 July 2022. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account Jockey Cheung’s guilty plea, his riding record and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
