4 Iu Cheong Master (K F Choi) -Bumped with 7 Foxy Rocket on jumping away.
5 Romantique (T Appie) -Near the 600 metres had to be steadied when tightened for room between 8 Fire Emblem and 10 Winter Typhoon which was taken out by 11 Joyful Vanguard which shifted out when not fully clear. Apprentice X C Liang was issued a severe reprimand and was advised that he is to ensure that he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground at all times.
6 Famous Pal (C L Cheung) -Was slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout and near the 400 metres when continuing to race greenly, shifted out when being corrected by its rider after being inclined to hang in. Leaving the 300 metres when again continuing to race greenly, shifted in when hanging in under pressure and when being corrected by its rider then shifted out abruptly. Leaving the 200 metres was inclined to shift out under pressure. After taking into consideration the racing manners of 6 Famous Pal, Trainer S H Cheong was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
7 Foxy Rocket (M Tanaka) -Bumped with 4 Iu Cheong Master on jumping away. Near the 400 metres had to be checked away from the heels of 9 Sheng Tong Master which when racing greenly, shifted out abruptly after being eased outwards away from the heels of 6 Famous Pal which when also racing greenly, shifted out when being corrected by its rider after being inclined to hang in. As Stewards could not portion blame against anyone rider and taking into account the racing manners of both 6 Famous Pal and 9 Sheng Tong Master, the Stewards took no action other than to order both 6 Famous Pal and 9 Sheng Tong Master to undergo an official Barrier Trial prior to racing again. Leaving the 300 metres had to be checked away from the heels of 9 Sheng Tong Master which when racing greenly, shifted out abruptly after shifting in onto the heels of 6 Famous Pal which when again continuing to race greenly, shifted out abruptly when being corrected by its rider. 8 Fire Emblem (K H Yu) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Sheng Tong Master (S Nakano) -Jumped away awkwardly. Leaving the 700 metres had to be eased away from the heels of 6 Famous Pal which when racing greenly shifted in. Near the 400 metres when racing greenly shifted out abruptly after being eased outwards away from the heels of 6 Famous Pal which when also racing greenly, shifted out when being corrected by its rider after being inclined to hang in. Leaving the 300 metres when racing greenly, shifted out abruptly after shifting in onto the heels of 6 Famous Pal which when again continuing to race greenly, shifted out abruptly when being corrected by its rider. Near the 150 metres was eased away from the heels of 6 Famous Pal which shifted out under pressure whilst being ridden along. Jockey C L Cheung the rider of 6 Famous Pal was issued a severe reprimand and was advised that he would be expected to stop riding and correct his mount sooner than he did on this occasion. After taking into consideration the racing manners of 9 Sheng Tong Master, Trainer W H Tse was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
