RACE-4 THE PITTSBURG (Div.1) RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1350 METRES (141)

7 Harvest Day (L Corrales)- Beaten favorite. Rider L Corrales stated that he expected to lead however his mount failed to muster sufficient speed to do so. In the early to the middle stages, his mount raced off the bit until the 500 metres where it started to improve, however was one paced in the straight. Trainer M C Tam will notify the Stewards should any reason come to light during the next few days that may have affected the performance of 7 Harvest Day. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. A swab sample was taken for analysis.
9 Beauty Legend (C L Cheung)- Was slow into stride. Hampered near the 1200 metres.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident around the 1200 metres. Evidence was taken from the riders of 1 Farmer's Voice (Apprentice X C Liang) and 2 Rose Hero (S Nakano). Rider S Nakano pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in near the 1200 metres he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting out when not clear of 1 Farmer's Voice which had to be checked to avoid the heels of 2 Rose Hero. S Nakano’s licensed to ride in races was suspended for 1 raceday covering the meeting of 4th March 2023. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account S Nakano’s guilty plea, and his good record and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
