Race Report

RACE-1 THE TIANJIN RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1500 METRES (163)

During the running of the race, Stewards activated the Emergency Warning System when it was established that a riderless horse was galloping towards the oncoming field. Prior to correct weight, the Enquiry Sign was semaphored. Stewards interviewed all riders, and assessed all patrol films to establish if any horse or rider had been disadvantaged due to the activation of the Emergency Warning System. Every rider stated that they were not impacted in any way by the activation of the Emergency System or the loose horse and they all rode their mounts fully throughout the race and to the winning post. Stewards were also satisfied that no horse or rider was impacted in any manner and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.

1 Happy Cat (Apprentice X C Liang) - After jumping away, blundered, and was brushed on two occasions by 9 Sheng Tong Master. Then attempted to buck and shifted in abruptly before dislodging its rider. Trainer M C Tam was informed that in view of the racing manners of 1 Happy Cat, it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial. Apprentice X C Liang was examined by the Club’s Medical Officer and was passed fit to continue riding.
2 Lucky Star (Apprentice A Liu) - Rounding the turn near the 1200 metres, laid out when racing keenly. From approaching the 400 metres until the entrance to the straight, was held up when unable to improve his position. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running approaching and passing the 300 metres.
8 Da Fa Loi (I Poullis) - Raced three wide without cover until the 600 metres.
9 Sheng Tong Master (K F Choi) - Commenced a little awkwardly and then became unbalanced when crowded between 1 Happy Cat and 4 Top Mountain Hero.
