RACE-3 THE MILWAUKEE RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (220)
This race was rescheduled to start at 15:30.
1 Beauty Life (I Poullis) - Jumped inwards, checking 8 Star Of Venus then continued to shift in, despite the efforts of its rider and bumped 5 Sincefoon Hero which shifted out. As a result got its head up and became unbalanced.
2 Great Honour (C Perkins) - Shortly after the start, had to be checked when tightened for room between 5 Sincefoon Hero and 8 Star Of Venus both of which shifted ground. Approaching the 100 metres, when making ground quickly behind 9 Racing Brothers, shifted out abruptly when struck with the whip, resulting in the rider having to stop riding and correct his mount.
4 Harapan (A Da Silva) - Raced three wide without cover
5 Sincefoon Hero (Apprentice A Liu) - After jumping away, was taken out by 9 Racing Brothers, resulting in 2 Great Honour having to be checked.
6 Winning Elite (M Tanaka) - After passing the 1100 metres, commenced to race keenly and had to be checked from heels of 9 Racing Brothers which, after shifting in, gave a little ground. Then raced fiercely through the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer K M Chin stated that in its only two runs in Macau, the horse had been ridden in a more forward position, however had not finished off its races. He said today he instructed the rider to ride the gelding more quietly and attributed to the improved performance to be ridden in this manner.
7 Dawson (M Alvarez) - Cast its left front plate during the event. Was held up for a short distance near the 350 metres before obtaining a clear run between 5 Sincefoon Hero and 9 Racing Brothers. M Alvarez explained that he had considered coming to the outside of 5 Sincefoon Hero near the 350 metres, however 3 Fortune Paradise was racing to his outside at his heels, and he was of the opinion that if he shifted out he would have caused interference to that runner.
8 Star Of Venus (L Corrales) - Checked after jumping away when 1 Beauty Life shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
9 Racing Brothers (K H Yu) - Eased down approaching the winning post. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer W L Ho was informed that he would be required to present 9 Racing Brothers to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 7 May 2023.
