Stipendiary Stewards Inquiry - Jockey K Leung

RACE-6 THE LUDHIANA RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (306)

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 800 metres where 7 Grand Warrior (O Chavez) was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 7 Grand Warrior (O Chavez) and 11 Moral Integrity (K Leung). Jockey K Leung the rider of 11 Moral Integrity pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that leaving the 800 metres, he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in when insufficiently clear of 7 Grand Warrior which had to be checked. Jockey K Leung’s license to ride in races was suspended for one racemeeting covering the meeting on Sunday, 21 July 2019. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his record, the degree of interference and the racing manners of 11 Moral Integrity at the point of the incident. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
