Stipendiary Stewards Inquiry - Jockey J B Hamel

RACE-1 THE HARTLEPOOL RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1350 METRES (78)

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey J B Hamel the rider of 7 Lucky Hugo pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that leaving the 75 metres whilst riding his mount along he permitted 7 Lucky Hugo to shift in hampering 2 Not A Single Help which had to be steadied resulting in both 2 Not A Single Help and Jockey D Barros becoming unbalanced. Jockey J B Hamel’s license to ride in races was suspended for one racemeeting, covering the meeting of Saturday, 9 January 2021. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey J B Hamel’s guilty plea, his disciplinary record and the degree of interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
