RACE-2 THE OLDHAM RATING 70-45 (CLASS 3) 1050 METRES (106)
RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 900 metres where 5 Silent Height, 1 Arriba Arriba, 9 Shaibanat, 7 Grexit and 12 Winter Typhoon were checked. Evidence was taken from Apprentice Tesuri the rider of 5 Silent Height, Apprentice X C Liang the rider of 1 Arriba Arriba, Jockey K H Yu the rider of 9 Shaibanat, Jockey Y M Choi the rider of 7 Grexit, Jockey H Lam the rider of 12 Winter Typhoon and Jockey A A Rivera the rider of 4 Speedy Circuit.
Jockey A A Rivera the rider of 4 Speedy Circuit pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 900 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 5 Silent Height which had to be checked and was taken in onto 1 Arriba Arriba which was checked and in turn taken in onto 7 Grexit which in turn was checked after making contact with the hindquarters of 12 Winter Typhoon which also had to be checked when taken in onto 9 Shaibanat which was also checked. Jockey A A Rivera’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 racemeetings covering the meeting of Friday 28 January, Saturday 5 February and Friday 11 February 2022. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account Jockey A A Rivera’s guilty plea, his disciplinary record, the degree of interference and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
