RACE-5 THE SALEM RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1500 METRES (317)

1 Oneofthegreats (O Chavez) -Leaving the 150 metres had a tendency to shift out under pressure. Near the 50 metres shifted out and brushed 4 Tagmaster resulting in Jockey O Chavez dropping his left rein for a short distance.
2 Satono Eternal (F Henrique) -Leaving the 800 metres momentarily raced in restricted room between 3 Master Starkiller which shifted out slightly and 5 Whawei Spirit which shifted in slightly.
5 Whawei Spirit (H Lam) -Was crowded for room on jumping away between 3 Master Starkiller and 2 Satono Eternal both of which shifted ground. Near the 1300 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 6 Chappo which shifted in when not fully clear and 7 Yings Fans which when over racing shifted out slightly. After considering all the circumstances the Stewards reprimanded Jockey J B Hamel the rider of 6 Chappo and advised him he is to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground at all times.
6 Chappo (J B Hamel) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Yings Fans (L Corrales) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Near the 800 metres when continuing to race fiercely had to be eased away from the heels of 6 Chappo which shifted in. Jockey J B Hamel was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. Leaving the 800 metres had a tendency to hang out and continued to hang out for the reminder of the race. Jockey L Corrales was reminded of his obligations to ensure that when using the whip his hand must not be raised above shoulder height.
