RACE-3 THE AYR RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1350 METRES (9)

1 Benevolent Friend (L Corrales) -Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn and brushed 9 River Triple. In the early stages of the home straight had a tendency to hang in under pressure. The Stewards intend to question Jockey L Corrales with regards to the performance of his mount in tonight’s race. Trainer K M Chin was informed to present 1 Benevolent Friend to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 14 September 2019.
5 Simply Impeccable (D Barros) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
7 Thar (K H Yu) -Checked near the 700 metres.
8 Garlic And Spicy (W L Ho) - Tightened for room on jumping away between 2 Green Fortune and 9 River Triple which had a tendency to lay in away from 5 Simply Impeccable. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 River Triple (S Nakano) - Raced wide without cover throughout. Rounding the home turn was brushed by 1 Benevolent Friend which had a tendency to lay out.
10 Superlative Choice (V Tolentino) - Near the 250 metres hung in of its own accord and brushed the running rail and became unbalanced for a short distance. Trainer M C Tam was informed that a warning had been placed on 10 Superlative Choice for its racing manners. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
12 Casino Mok (Y M Choi) -Bumped by 4 Falcoshow on jumping away. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident whereby 7 Thar was checked near the 700 metres Evidence was taken from the riders of 3 Loxwood (F Henrique) , 6 Rocket Along (K K Lai), 7 Thar (K H Yu) , 8 Garlic And Spicy (W L Ho) and 12 Casino Mok (Y M Choi). Jockey Y M Choi pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 700 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 3 Loxwood which in turn shifted in across the running of 7 Thar which had to be checked. Jockey Y M Choi’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 1 racemeeting cover the meeting of Saturday, 19 October 2019. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account Jockey Y M Choi’s guilty plea, his riding record and the degree of interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
