RACE-6 THE KIANGSU (DIV 1) RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1350 METRES (6)

1 Akeli Sword (K H Yu) -Near the 200 metres had to be eased away from the heels of 3 Cambodia Star which shifted out slightly.
2 Pearl Win Win (Y M Choi) -Near the 300 metres was hampered and became unbalanced.
3 Cambodia Star (W L Ho) -Was brushed by 1 Akeli Sword on jumping away. Checked near the 300 metres and thereafter rider W L Ho desisted from riding his mount out. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Amazing Happy (B Yamzon) -Was reported after the race by the Veterinary Surgeon to have cast its left fore plate.
5 Cherry Road (M Tanaka) -Near the 250 metres laid in and brushed 4 Amazing Happy. Thereafter continued to lay in under pressure for the remainder.
7 Ready Fire (S Nakano) -Was held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Was inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 200 metres.
9 Mission Dragon (H Lam) -Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.




RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into a racing incident whereby 3 Cambodia Star had to be checked and 2 Pearl Win Win was hampered near the 300 metres. Evidence was taken from the riders of 1 Akeli Sword (K H Yu), 2 Pearl Win Win (Y M Choi) and 3 Cambodia Star (W L Ho). Jockey K H Yu the rider of 1 Akeli Sword pleaded guilty to charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 300 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 3 Cambodia Star which was tightened for room and had to be checked and was in turn taken in onto 2 Pearl Win Win which was hampered and became unbalanced. Jockey K H Yu’s license to ride in races was suspended for one racemeeting covering the meeting of Saturday, 17 October 2020. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey K H Yu’s guilty plea, his riding record and the degree of interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
