1 Golden Thumb (M Tanaka) -Was slow to begin.
4 Imperial Eagle (S Nakano) -Raced wide without cover throughout. From the 300 metres was inclined to lay in under pressure.
6 Bottom Up (F Henrique) -Was slow to begin and was then crowded for room between 5 Silent Height and 7 Powerful Conqueror, both of which shifted ground. Rider reported he was instructed to settle in 2nd or 3rd position, however as his mount wasn’t the best to begin, he had to ride 6 Bottom Up hard in the early stages to comply with his instructions to take up a forward position. He added from the 600 metres his mount was under pressure and in the home straight did not respond to his riding and was making respiratory noises. He further added that in his opinion the effort to take up a forward position in the early stages contributed to today’s performance and he advised the stable that 6 Bottom Up will be better suited to races over a longer distance where it has time to settle in its races. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer Y C Fung was informed that he would be required to present 6 Bottom Up to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 6 December 2020.
