RACE-2 THE FANLING RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (287)

1 Master Starkiller (W H Lao) -Near the 1350 metres when racing fiercely had to be steadied away from the heels of 5 Right Right Right which shifted in when not fully clear before being corrected by its rider. Jockey K H Yu the rider of 5 Right Right Right was issued a severe reprimand and was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground at all times. Raced fiercely in the early stages.
2 General Fu Hao (L Corrales) -Raced fiercely in the early stages and for some distance leaving the 1100 metres when the pace of the race slowed, had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 5 Right Right Right. Rounding the home turn was eased when momentarily racing in restricted room to the inside of 9 River Exquisite which shifted in slightly after being awkwardly placed on the heels of 8 Franklin Lane. Rider reported that after obtaining a handy position behind 5 Right Right Right in the early stages, he was then obliged to race further back than he had anticipated when that runner handed up its position to 6 Ka Hero. He further added that as 2 General Fu Hao is one paced in its races, in his opinion the filly performs better when able to race in a more forward position. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Fit Lite (B Yamzon) -Was slow to begin and then slow into stride. Trainer K H Leong was informed that a warning will be issued to 4 Fit Lite in relation to its racing manners.
5 Right Right Right (K H Yu) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Rounding the home turn was obliged to alter course outwards away from the heels of 8 Franklin Lane which shifted out to improve. Rider reported that he was instructed to settle in 2nd or 3rd position with cover should circumstances permit. He added that in the early stages when unable to cross 1 Master Starkiller near the 1300 metres, his mount then commenced to race fiercely and as he observed 6 Ka Hero improving wider on the track, he elected to restrain his mount and allow that runner to cross to obtain cover in accordance with his instructions.
7 Pride Mountain (J B Hamel) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Franklin Lane (D Barros) -When questioned regarding he apparent improved performance of 8 Franklin Lane, Trainer W H Tse stated that he was very disappointed with the gelding’s previous start on 22 May 2021 over 1800 metres and was at a loss to explain its disappointing performance. He added since then he had given 8 Franklin Lane a freshen up and dropped it back to the 1500 metres which in his opinion had contributed to the gelding’s improved performance today. The Stewards noted his explanation.
9 River Exquisite (C L Cheung) -Jumped away awkwardly. Leaving the 500 metres raced up onto the heels of 8 Franklin Lane and had to be steadied. Was held up on entering the home straight and was unable to establish clear running until near the 250 metres where it was shifted to the outside of the heels of 8 Franklin Lane.
10 Qipao Queen (M Tanaka) -Underwent a veterinary examination at the request of Jockey M Tanaka. Acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was lame in the left foreleg, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of 10 Qipao Queen at 4:32pm. Trainer W H Tse was informed that 10 Qipao Queen will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time a veterinary certificate is produced.
11 Royal Master (S Nakano) -Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost ground. Trainer W Smith was informed that a warning will be issued to 11 Royal Master in relation to its barrier manners. In determining not to place an embargo on the gelding, the Stewards took into account its recent good record with regards to its barrier manners. Leaving the 200 metres had to be eased away from the heels of 8 Franklin Lane which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey D Barros the rider of 8 Franklin Lane was issued a severe reprimand and was advised that in similar circumstances, he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts.
