1 Ka Ying Happy (Apprentice A Liu) - Raced with its head up in the back straight.
5 Breezy Artax (S H Huang) - Performed below market expectations. Raced keenly through the middle stages.
8 Sheng Tong Star (K F Choi) - Rider K F Choi accidently dropped his whip approaching the 200 metres. Jockey K F Choi was issued a severe reprimand.
9 Great Honour (I Poullis) - Marginally slow to begin. Hampered near the 1300 metres (see inquiry report).

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Stewards inquired into an incident turning out of the straight on the first occasion. Evidence was taken from the riders of 3 City Lucky Star (C L Cheung), 7 Everlasting Goal (W H Lao) and 9 Great Honour (I Poullis). It was established that at that point 5 Breezy Artax which was racing on the rail shifted out slightly, taking 4 Military Strongman (K H Yu) wider and as a result 7 Everlasting Goal was also taken out. At the same time, 3 City Lucky Star shifted in when not fully clear of 7 Everlasting Goal resulting in that gelding having to be restrained. 9 Great Honour which was racing back and to the outside of 7 Everlasting Goal was hampered in consequence. In all the circumstances Stewards deemed this a racing incident, however notified Jockey C L Cheung the rider of 3 City Lucky Star that he must ensure he is fully clear of runners when shifting ground in future.
