Race Report

RACE-2 THE MORPHETVILLE RATING 45-0 (CLASS 4,5&6) 1600 METRES (44)

The start of this race was delayed when a number of horses had to undergo veterinary inspection at the barrier.

2 Fortune Target (M Cangas) –After kicking the running rail on the way barriers, was examined on arrival at the barriers by the Veterinary Surgeon and found to be lame in the right hind leg and had sustained lacerations. Acting on veterinary advice it was withdrawn at 8:39pm. Trainer G Allendorf was informed that it will not be permitted to race again for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance has been produced.
4 Auspicious Dragon (B Yamzon) –Dislodged rider on the way to the barriers and galloped a considerable distance before being captured. Acting on veterinary advice the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of 4 Auspicious Dragon at 8:35pm.
7 River Good Choice (K H Yu) –Approaching the 800 metres and again near the 600 metres was brushed by 12 Double Up which shifted in and became unbalanced. Rider was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance tonight and highlighted that when his mount was headed at the top of the straight it failed to respond to his riding. A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards and failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Beaten in excess of 29 lenghts. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactory in a barrier trial.
8 Rusharound (J Cordero) –Was slow to muster speed. For some distance passing the 400 metres was held up when unable to improve its position before obtaining a neat run to the inside of 6 Happy School Boy near the 250 metres.
12 Double Up (W H Lao) –Brushed the inside gate on jumping away; Raced three wide throughout without cover.
