Race Report

RACE-2 THE ST. HELENS RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1350 METRES (387)
This race was rescheduled to start at 4:40pm.

3 Turquoise Lucky (W H Lao) –On jumping away was hampered when bumped by 7 Gold Selection and as a result lost ground.
5 Moon Walker (H Lam) – Very difficult to load. Trainer C F Chan was informed that the horse must perform satisfactorily in a Jump Out before racing again.
6 Tony Itoldyouso (A Aucharuz) –After jumping away became slightly unbalanced after being bumped by 11 Win Perfectly which shifted out. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
7 Gold Selection (J Cordero) –When questioned as to why he led on the gelding today which normally settles in a mid to rear position, Jockey J Cordero explained that the gelding can sometimes be tardy to begin and he was instructed that if it began well to attempt to lead or alternatively if it did not jump to obtain a position with cover. Assistant Trainer P Lo confirmed the instructions and added that it was similar to previous starts and also noted that because the gelding does have a history of being tardy away it is usually unable to lead.
8 Tiger Exceed (W Smith) - Trainer C F Chan was informed that 8 Tiger Exceed which was lame in the left fore will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
10 Mission Fame (K K Lai) –Was very slow to muster speed.
11 Win Perfectly (L Corrales) – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. Was inspected behind the barriers and passed fit to race. Performed below market expectations. Rider reported that his mount never travelled comfortably and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. A post race swab was taken from the gelding for analysis.
