RACE-1 THE RISING FAST RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1500 METRES (319)
2 Roaring Star (Apprentice S Meneanen) –Brushed the running rail at approximately 450 metres.
4 Lucky Today (Apprentice K Leung) –When questioned Apprentice K Leung stated after getting a good jump he travelled 200 metres and the horse commenced to lose ground and continued to lose ground throughout the race and was disappointing and added that 4 Lucky Today on pulling up was breathing very heavily. Trainer Y C Fung stated that he expected the horse to perform well today and was very disappointing in today’s performance and could offer no explanation to its run today. He was informed that he would be required to present the horse to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination and scoping on Sunday, 16 July 2017. He was also informed that 4 Lucky Today will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Wonder Holy (R Curatolo) –Brushed the running rail at approximately 450 metres.
8 Sacred Warrior (W L Ho) –At the 300 metres had to steadied away from the heels of 6 One Belt One Road. When questioned, Jockey W L Ho stated that he travelled well just behind the leader and up to the home turn when placed under pressure just maintained the same effort and in his opinion 8 Sacred Warrior was not up to today’s opposition. When questioned regarding the performance of 8 Sacred Warrior, Trainer J Lau stated that 8 Sacred Warrior is still a maiden and in his opinion would be better suited in a maiden race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
