Race Report

RACE-3 THE CHIPPENHAM RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1350 METRES (315)

2 Military Strongman (L Corrales) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality
3 Sheng Li Bao (K H Yu) - Commenced a little awkwardly. Hampered and crowded near the 1300 metres.
4 Golden Unbeatable (S H Huang) - Was bumped at the start, had its hind quarters turned and lost some ground (1L).
5 Fortune Paradise (M Tanaka) - Hampered and lost its position near the 1300 metres. (See inquiry report).
6 Great Honour (S Nakano) - Stood flat-footed when the gates were released and lost ground.
8 Good World (A Da Silva) - Hampered and crowded near the 1300 metres.
9 Easy Ace (I Poullis) - Raced very fiercely through the early and middle stages.
10 Organic Winner (C Perkins) - Shifted out at the start, made heavy contact with 4 Golden Unbeatable, as a result became unbalanced.
11 Cordyceps Eight (M Alvarez) - Hampered and crowded near the 1300 metres.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Stewards inquired into an incident around the 1300 metres. I Poullis, rider of 9 Easy Ace, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132(i) in that he permitted his mount to shift in, making contact with 8 Good World and taking that gelding in, tightening the running of 8 Good World, 11 Cordyceps Eight, 5 Fortune Paradise and 3 Sheng Li Bao, resulting in 8 Good World, 11 Cordyceps Eight and 3 Sheng Li Bao being hampered when crowded and 5 Fortune Paradise losing its position. I Poullis had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 race day, with date to be advised, and fined the sum of HKD 3000. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account the level of carelessness and interference, the guilty plea and I Poullis’ riding record. He was advised of his rights of appeal.
