	Introduction :	Chilean jockey R J Perez comes from a racing family with both his grandfather and father being involved in racing. His father was a jockey based in Macau in the late 1990s. Perez joined the Macau Jockey Club’s Trainee Apprentice course in October 2003 and commenced his race riding career in 2005, attached to trainers Y T Lam and Geoff Allendorf. Following his 70th winner aboard Fortune Lolly in June 2008, Perez was granted a full Jockey’s licence in July 2008.
