Introduction : Y Y CHOY
In 1978 Alex Y Y Choy began his career in racing as a HK apprentice. After completing his apprenticeship Choy was then licensed as a freelance jockey for the Seasons of 1982/83 and 1983/84. He later rode in North America before transferring to Macau in 1990. Choy continued to ride in Macau until he was granted an assistant trainer\'s license in October 1993. In January 1996 when Irish trainer F Mills who was based in Macau, relinquished her trainer’s license, Choy was then granted an acting trainer’s license. Shortly after Choy received a full trainer’s license for the 1996/97 racing season.

T PINFIELD
43-year-old English-born Tim Pinfield was once a jump jockey before he made his move to the US where he worked as Assistant Trainer to Mr. Charlie Whittingham and then Mr. Darrell Vienna. He obtained a full trainer licence in 1997 with the California Horse Racing Board, and enjoyed his first stakes success when Nijinsky’s Passion won the California Breeders’ Champion Stakes in the same year. Big Jag has been Pinfield’s most successful horse, winning the Dubai Golden Shaheen in 2000, and finishing third in both the Breeders’ Cup Sprint and the inaugural running of the Hong Kong Sprint in 1999. In 2002 he moved his training base to Singapore, and amassed a total of 74 winners in six seasons there. In 2008 he returned to the US to train.
