Race Report

RACE-4 THE CATTERICK (DIV 2) RATING 60-35 (CLASS 3&4) 1350 METRES (40)

1 Destney (W L Ho) -Jumped away awkwardly.
2 Majimaster (K H Yu) -Knuckled on jumping away. Leaving the 500 metres was inclined to hang out.
4 Ashkari (F Henrique) -Was slow to begin.
5 Hostwin Poseidon (L Corrales) -Was marginally slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Rider dropped his whip near the 150 metres. Rider reported that his mount obtained the lead position comfortably, however when joined by 7 Amazing Happy leaving the 1200 metres, 5 Hostwin Poseidon commenced to race fiercely. He added his mount continued to race fiercely until the 700 metres when it began to travel comfortably, however when 1 Destney improved to his inside near the 400 metres he placed 5 Hostwin Poseidon under pressure where it responded briefly however weakened over the final 200 metres. He added in his opinion at this stage of its preparation, 5 Hostwin Poseidon is better suited to races over 1050 metres. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Wittymaster (Y M Choi) -Jumped outwards at the start and brushed with 8 Ines Sky which at the same time shifted in. A short distance later blundered after clipping the heels of 7 Amazing Happy when inclined to lay in and away from 8 Ines Sky which was laying in before being corrected by its rider. After considering all of the circumstances, whilst the Stewards acknowledged the contributing shift from both horses 6 Wittymaster and 8 Ines Sky prior to the incident, the Stewards nevertheless severely reprimanded Jockey T Appie the rider of 8 Ines Sky and advised him that he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
