Race Report

RACE-6 THE CHEUNG CHAU RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1500 METRES (242)

1 Luen Yat Forever (W L Ho) –Was slow to muster speed.
2 Lucky Winston (W T Pao) –Approaching the 1200 metres was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 3 Master Kabiddi.
4 Master Of Cheers (R Curatolo) –Disappointing performance. Rider reported that he had to make early use of the gelding in the early stages to obtain the lead, and in his opinion this contributed to 4 Master Of Cheers tiring over the final 200 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Let Me Run (K K Lai) –Raced keenly and had to be restrained off heels approaching the 800 metres.
11 Happy Fish (C F Wong) –Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
12 Total Management (M Cangas) –Raced wide without cover throughout.

INQUIRY:
Prior to Correct Weight Stewards viewed the patrol videos to ascertain if there were grounds to lodge objection on behalf of 7 Chairman's Vote and 3 Master Kabiddi. Stewards did not believe there were sufficient grounds for an objection and Correct Weight was declared. It was established that 5 Perfect Alloy which had been laying out, shifted out abruptly approaching the winning post taking 7 Chairman's Vote out towards 3 Master Kabiddi which was then tightened for room between that gelding and 2 Lucky Winston, and had to be checked crossing the finishing line.
