Race Report

RACE-2 THE SAN DIEGO RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1050 METRES (244)

1 Borrett Boy (B Yamzon) –Trainer P Leyshan advised Stewards that he would instruct the rider to have 1 Borrett Boy ridden more forward tonight. Settled just behind the leaders.
2 True Brother (C Perkins) – Disappointing performance from the favorite. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Jockey C Perkins reported that after beginning well, his mount travelled comfortably in the middle stages, however leaving the 600 metres was inclined to hang out and approaching the 500 metres when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding. He added in his opinion the gelding was disappointing tonight. A swab sample was taken for analysis.
5 Ideal Horse (A Calder) –Trainer M C Tam advised Stewards that he would instruct the rider to settle the horse where it was comfortable. It settled in a mid to rear position. Bounded in the air when the gates were released.
6 By Kings Boy (M Cangas) –Shifted in when the gates were released and made contact with 11 Beautiful Illusion.
7 Big Fortress (J Cordero) – After passing the 700 metres steadied when tightened for room.
9 Chilli Boy (W L Ho) –Cast its right front plate during the running of the race. W L Ho the rider of 9 Chilli Boy which performed poorly reported that the gelding travelled only fairly during the early and middle stages and leaving the 600 metres when under full pressure failed to respond to his riding. A post race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Zirconium Alloy (H Lam) –Was slow to begin (1L).
12 Liver Pool (L Salles) –Jumped away awkwardly.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
After passing the 700 metres 2 True Brother (C Perkins) shifted in abruptly brushing 1 Borrett Boy (B Yamzon) which became unbalanced. 12 Liver Pool (L Salles) which was racing to the inside of 1 Borrett Boy and laying in also shifted in slightly resulting in 7 Big Fortress (J Cordero) which was to that’s gelding inside being steadied and losing ground. During the inquiry, Jockey J Cordero the rider of 7 Big Fortress advised the Stewards that the colt which was having its first start tonight was reluctant to hold its position inside runners. In all the circumstances, the Stewards took no action however advised all riders that they must exercise the utmost care at all times.
