Race Report

RACE-6 THE AYR RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) (SAND) 1050 METRES (78)

3 Brave Flying Hawk (R Curatolo) –Was marginally slow to begin.
4 Gem Eagle (A Aucharuz) –Jumped very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped 11 Luen Yat Forever. Rider reported that after jumping away awkwardly his mount settled further back than anticipated and he explained that once 4 Gem Eagle started to receive kickback, it dropped the bit and lost ground. He added that from the 900 metres he moved 4 Gem Eagle wider on the track to race out of the kick back, however the gelding did not respond to his riding and never travelled comfortably and was extremely disappointing. A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K S Wong was informed to present the gelding to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 27th November 2016 and in addition, as it was beaten 30 lengths, it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
7 Harbour Star (W L Ho) –Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider reported in his opinion racing wide without cover had contributed to 7 Harbour Star failing to finish the race off in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Gunstigmaster (C F Chan) –Was slow into stride.
12 Capital Protector (B Yamzon) –Near the 600 metres was bumped by 9 King Achilles which shifted in slightly.
