RACE-1 THE DEEPWATER BAY RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1510 METRES (249)

1 Smart Ebony (WL Ho) –A post race veterinary examination revealed that gelding was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer K S Ho was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
3 Big Success (K H Yu)- Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. The Stewards questioned both Jockey K H Yu and Trainer S H Cheong in regards to the extra ground covered by 3 Big Success in tonight’s event. Jockey K H Yu said he was instructed to ride his mount forward and endeavour to avoid the kickback. Trainer S H Cheong confirmed these instructions. The Stewards told both Trainer S H Cheong and Jockey K H Yu that they were unimpressed with the unnecessary ground covered by 3 Big Success. In addition, Trainer S H Cheong was informed that in future he would be expected to formulate instructions that would enable his runners to obtain the best possible placings in the event. Jockey K H Yu was informed that he would be expected to place more thought into his rides in future. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Fantastic Destiny (C F Chan) -A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer J Lau was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
7 Fortune Smiles (K W Leong) - Rounding the first turn, lay in and crowded 8 Rockin Laser. Jockey K W Leong was reprimanded and told he must react quicker than he did tonight.
8 Rockin Laser (A Aucharuz) –Rounding the first turn was crowded by 7 Fortune Smiles.
10 Delight Consul (K K Lai) – Slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination at the request of the rider failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
