RACE-3 THE LEEDS RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1500 METRES (112)
1 Capital Protector (A Calder) -At the 300 metres was bumped by 8 Achilles Sword.
3 Prehistoric Power (M Wepner) - Was examined at the barriers by the Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K H Leong was informed to present the gelding to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 27 January 2018.
5 My Dream (Y M Choi) -At the 1400 metres crowded 7 Roaring Star. Jockey Y M Choi was issued with a severe reprimanded and informed that he would be expected to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future. In the straight continued to shift ground outwards. The Stewards questioned Jockey Y M Choi as to the reason for him failing to take up a clear run directly in front of him at the top of the straight instead of him going wide and were critical of his effort to maintain a straight course. Jockey Y M Choi explained that his mount was inclined to hang out in the straight. He was issued with a severe reprimand and informed that he would be expected to make a greater effort to take advantage of runs and maintain a straighter course in future.
6 Oriental Profit (K K Lai) - Bumped with 12 Spring Thunder at the 300 metres.
7 Roaring Star (B Yamzon) -Was crowded by 5 My Dream at the 1400 metres.
8 Achilles Sword (M Nunes) - At the 300 metres bumped with 1 Capital Protector. A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer J Lau was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
11 Niubi Emperor (R Maia) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality
12 Spring Thunder (K H Yu) -Bumped with 6 Oriental Profit at the 300 metres.
14 Schilleraine (A Aucharuz) -Hung out throughout. Trainers C F Chan/K Seo was informed that they would be required to present the gelding for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 27 January 2018 and in addition the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days until such time that it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
