Race Report

RACE-3 THE YICHANG RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1050 METRES (168)

2 Peace Get Lucky (W Smith) - Was restless in the barriers and then slow to begin. At the 750 metres was taken inwards by 5 Chapman Bunbun. A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Jockey W Smith when questioned said that after a slow start he managed to race in a handy position as instructed and in the straight his mount failed to respond. He added it felt flat and in his opinion may have not backed up from its recent start last week. Trainer K H Leong said that prior to the race he had given 2 Peace Get Lucky a good chance but being slowly away had compromised its chances. He added that he intends to give 2 Peace Get Lucky a few weeks off from racing.
3 Beautiful Illusion (Y M Choi) -At the 800 metres and again at the 700 metres had to steady as a result of 5 Chapman Bunbun shifting ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Chapman Bunbun (R Maia) - At the 800 metres shifted in, resulting in 3 Beautiful Illusion having to steady. At the 750 metres shifted in and took 2 Peace Get Lucky inwards. At the 700 metres rolled out with 3 Beautiful Illusion having to steady. Jockey R Maia was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Best Double (M Wepner) - At the 100 metres slipped behind.
