Race Report

RACE-5 THE NORWICH RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1200 METRES (149)

1 Full Score (M Nunes) - Rounding the home turn bumped with 8 Wealthy Emperor on a number of occasions when attempting to shift out around the heels of 9 Tron Friend to obtain clear running. Near 200 metres shifted out and away from 6 Tuhao Power and was steadied away from the heels of 8 Wealthy Emperor which shifted in. After considering all of the circumstances, in particular the contributing shift from both horses, the Stewards severely reprimanded Jockey F Henrique the rider of 8 Wealthy Emperor and advised him that although there was a shift outwards from 1 Full Score at the point of the incident, he should have attempted to stop and straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion and in future he is to ensure he is sufficiently clear of all runners when shifting ground.
2 Danny Choice (L Corrales) - Proved difficult to load delaying the start. Trainer K S Wong was informed that a warning had been placed on 2 Danny Choice for its barrier manners.
5 Wealthy East (R Maia) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Tuhao Power (Y M Choi) -From the 250 metres to until the 200 metres was held up when disappointed for a run between 5 Wealthy East and 1 Full Score. From the 200 metres was then able to establish clear running.
7 Lucky Mate (W Smith) -Jumped awkwardly, threw its head in the air and shortly after the start was tightened for room between 1 Full Score and 13 Game Of Dreams which taken out slightly by 4 Lucky Gold which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.
9 Tron Friend (W L Ho) -Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
10 President King (H Lam) -Leaving the 800 metres was hampered by 13 Game Of Dreams. Thereafter raced wide without cover.
11 River Rich (K K Lai) -Was tightened for room on jumping away between 6 Tuhao Power and 12 Rainbow Achievers which jumped awkwardly and shifted in. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that in view of the poor performance of 11 River Rich, it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
12 Rainbow Achievers (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Jumped awkwardly and shifted in. Leaving the 500 metres had to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of 13 Game Of Dreams which when racing fiercely shifted out.
13 Game Of Dreams (K Leung) -Leaving the 800 metres commenced to race fiercely and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of Full Score. Thereafter continued to race fiercely for some distance and near the 500 metres shifted out hampering 10 President King.
