Race Report

RACE-4 THE COCHIN RATING 85-55 (CLASS 2) 1800 METRES (304)

1 Rose Gold Alloy (O Chavez) -Jumped away awkwardly. Rider reported that from the 600 metres his horse was under pressure and did not respond to his riding and added that 1 Rose Gold Alloy seems to be racing without confidence. The Stewards noted his explanation.
3 Ojala (J B Hamel) -Jumped away awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Golden Fans (H Lam) -When questioned regarding the horse establishing a significant lead in the early and middle stages, Jockey H Lam stated he was instructed to lead, however after establishing the lead in the early stages and just prior to the crossing, his mount commenced to race fiercely, pulled hard and he was unable to settle his mount. As a result of this his mount established a lead greater than he had anticipated.
5 Grand Double Win (L Corrales) -Was slow into stride.
6 Luen On Treasure (F Henrique) -Leaving the winning post on the first occasion was checked.
9 Superlative Choice (K Mizuno) -Raced wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the winning post on the first occasion where 6 Luen On Treasure was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 8 Victory Moment (W L Ho) and 6 Luen On Treasure (F Henrique). Jockey W L Ho the rider of 8 Victory Moment pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that leaving the winning post on the first occasion, he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 6 Luen On Treasure which had to be checked. Jockey W L Ho’s license to ride in races was suspended for one racemeeting covering the meeting on Saturday, 20 July 2019. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his record, the degree of interference and the racing manners of 6 Luen On Treasure at the point of the incident where it was inclined to over race. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
