Race Report

RACE-6 THE LUDHIANA RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (306)

1 Grexit (W L Ho) -Leaving the 800 metres was bumped by 7 Grand Warrior. Near the 200 metres was momentarily hampered by 7 Grand Warrior which had a tendency to lay out under pressure. Jockey O Chavez the rider of 7 Grand Warrior was informed to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
5 Wondermaster (V Tolentino) -Jumped awkwardly, lost ground and was then inclined to hang out abruptly. C F Chan the Trainer of 5 Wondermaster was advised that a warning would be place on the gelding with regards to its barrier manner.
6 Beautiful Creative (S Ladjadj) -Near the 900 metres had to be steadied from the heels of 8 Turquoise Baywhich shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey K Mizuno the rider of 8 Turquoise Bay was issued with a severe reprimand and advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Grand Warrior (O Chavez) -Leaving the 800 metres had to be checked, shifted out and bumped 1 Grexit. Had a tendency to lay out under pressure near the 200 metres
9 Diva Achiever (F Henrique) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Win Win Hooray (L Corrales) -Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 800 metres where 7 Grand Warrior (O Chavez) was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 7 Grand Warrior (O Chavez) and 11 Moral Integrity (K Leung). Jockey K Leung the rider of 11 Moral Integrity pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that leaving the 800 metres, he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in when insufficiently clear of 7 Grand Warrior which had to be checked. Jockey K Leung’s license to ride in races was suspended for one racemeeting covering the meeting on Sunday, 21 July 2019. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his record, the degree of interference and the racing manners of 11 Moral Integrity at the point of the incident. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
