Race Report

RACE-5 THE INCHON (DIV.2) RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (357)

3 Wealthy East (S Ladjadj) - Raced fiercely in the early stages. Jockey S Ladjadj was questioned regarding his ride, in particular after obtaining a position behind 1 Fortune Dragon in the early stages, 3 Wealthy East was shifted out and eventually raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Jockey S Ladjadj stated that after being hampered at the start he was unable to lead as per its customary racing pattern and in the early stages he was content on maintaining a position on the running rail behind 1 Fortune Dragon. He added as soon as 1 Fortune Dragon had crossed him, 3 Wealthy East raced fiercely on that runner’s heels and despite his efforts refused to settle. He added he then made the decision to shift 3 Wealthy East wider on the track in an attempt to allow the gelding to settle, however it continued to race fiercely, so he then allowed it to stride forward however was forced to race wide without cover. After considering all of the circumstances and having taken into account the racing manners of 3 Wealthy East in the early stages, the Stewards noted his explanation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Desi Style (K Leung) -Was resaddled behind the barriers.
5 Golden Key (O Chavez) -Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home. Cast both front plates during the run.
6 Horsenumberone (S Nakano) -Jumped away awkwardly, hung in and bumped 8 Me Whee. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Felizmaster (L Corrales) -Was bumped on jumping away by 3 Wealthy East which was taken in by 8 Me Whee which shifted in after being bumped by 6 Horsenumberone which jumped away awkwardly and hung in despite the efforts of its rider. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards took no further action. Was held up rounding the home turn.
8 Me Whee (J B Hamel) -Bumped by 6 Horsenumberone on jumping away which jumped awkwardly and hung in.
