Race Report

RACE-4 THE BELCHIOR CARNEIRO RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1050 METRES (374)

1 River Triple (O Chavez) -Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.
2 Emperor King (F Henrique) -Was slow to begin and a short distance after the start had to be eased away from the heels of 7 Wealthy East which was taken out slightly by 5 Desi Style which shifted out marginally.
3 Joyful Bear (K Mizuno) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 King Of Glamour (L Corrales) -When questioned regarding his riding of 4 King Of Glamour in particular the reason for the gelding settling in a rearward position, Jockey L Corrales stated that his mount began well and he rode his mount hard in the early stages to try and obtain a handy position, however passing the 1000 metres a number of runners to his inside showed greater speed and as a result he was left racing wide on the track. He added that as a result of this he elected to ease his mount and try to obtain a position closer to the running rail, however near the 700 metres he had to steady his mount to prevent his mount from causing interference to 9 Grateful Favors which was racing directly to his inside. He added from the 700 metres onwards he rode his mount vigorously to make ground on the leading division and his mount responded and in the home straight when placed under pressure finished the race off strongly. He further added that he had reported to the trainer after the race that in his opinion in this class of race 4 King Of Glamour would be better suited over races of a longer distance. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards noted his explanation.
6 Still So Cute (R Maia) -Jumped away awkwardly.
7 Wealthy East (J B Hamel) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Captain Fabulous (K Leung) -Near the 200 metres was brushed by 4 King Of Glamour which when attempting a run between 8 Captain Fabulous and 7 Wealthy East shifted in slightly away from 7 Wealthy East.
