Race Report

RACE-4 THE NANNING RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1510 METRES (195)

2 Tremendous Wins (W L Ho) -Brushed with 6 Tuhao Choice on jumping away. Near the 1450 metres bumped with 6 Tuhao Choice. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Hostwin Aurora (L Corrales) -For some distance near the winning post on the first occasion raced tight to the inside of 7 Blackjack Mok which shifted in.
4 Oriental Profit (Y M Choi) -Passing the winning post on the first occasion was eased when momentarily racing in restricted room between 1 Simon Fubuki and 3 Hostwin Aurora which after racing tight to the inside of 7 Blackjack Mok was taken in when that runner shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey T Appie the rider of 7 Blackjack Mok was issued with a severe reprimand and he was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground in future.
5 Still So Cute (K H Yu) -Near the 100 metres was checked.
6 Tuhao Choice (C L Cheung) -Brushed with 2 Tremendous Wins on jumping away. Near the 1450 metres bumped with 2 Tremendous Wins. Leaving the winning post on the first occasion raced ungenerously and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 7 Blackjack Mok. Raced wide without cover throughout.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into a racing incident near the 100 metres where 5 Still So Cute was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 5 Still So Cute (K H Yu) and 6 Tuhao Choice (C L Cheung). Jockey C L Cheung the rider of 6 Tuhao Choice pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) for careless riding in that near the 100 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear whilst riding it along, thereby making heavy contact with 5 Still So Cute which had to be checked and lost ground. 4 Oriental Profit which was following was obliged to alter course in consequence. Jockey C L Cheung’s license to ride in races was suspended for two racemeetings covering the meetings of Friday, 25 and Sunday, 27 June 2021. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his disciplinary record and the degree of interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
