Race Report

RACE-1 THE MORPHETVILLE RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1600 METRES (69)

2 Fair Dream (C L Cheung) -Hung out abruptly on jumping away despite the efforts of its rider. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that a warning had been placed on 2 Fair Dream in relation to its racing manners.
3 Honey Biscuit (H Lam) -Near the 700 metres shifted out slightly and bumped 10 Superb Shooter.
4 Rayson Warrior (F Henrique) -Shifted in abruptly on jumping away and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of 2 Fair Dream which hung out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider C L Cheung. A warning was placed on 2 Fair Dream in relation to its racing manners. Near the 500 metres had its hindquarters contacted by 5 Grand Double Win which shifted out slightly. Rider reported that after having to take evasive action shortly the start, due to 9 Pride Sprint knuckling and becoming unbalanced and 2 Fair Dream hanging out abruptly, his mount settled further back than he had anticipated. He added 4 Rayson Warrior was off the bit throughout the race and in the home straight was one paced under pressure.
5 Grand Double Win (B Yamzon) -Near the 500 metres shifted out slightly and made contact with the hindquarters of 4 Rayson Warrior.
6 General Fu Hao (S H Huang) -Jumped away awkwardly. Passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be eased away from the heels of 7 Everything Rise which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey A A Rivera the rider of 7 Everything Rise was issued a severe reprimand and advised that he would be expected to be sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground at all times.
7 Everything Rise (A A Rivera) -A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was making respiratory noises. Trainer M C Tam was informed that he would be required to present 7 Everything Rise to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 28 November 2021 and in addition, due to its beaten margin, the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
8 Off The Bench (K H Yu) -On jumping away bumped with 10 Superb Shooter. Passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be steadied when tightened for room between 9 Pride Sprint which shifted out after the rider had lost the use of his right stirrup iron and 5 Grand Double Win which shifted in slightly when inclined to lay in. After considering all of the circumstances, the Steward took no further action. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
9 Pride Sprint (Y M Choi) -Shortly after the start knuckled severely almost dislodging its rider Y M Choi who as a result lost the use of his right stirrup iron which he failed to re gather throughout the race and near the 800 metres, as he was unbalanced in the saddle, he elected to remove his foot from the left side stirrup iron and 9 Pride Sprint was subsequently eased out of the race. Upon pulling up Jockey Y M Choi who was dislodged from his mount was required to undergo a medical examination and he was exempted from weighing in. The Medical Officer passed Jockey Y M Choi fit to continue riding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Superb Shooter (T Appie) -On jumping away bumped with 8 Off The Bench. Near the 700 metres was bumped by 3 Honey Biscuit which shifted out slightly.
