RACE-4 HONORARY RACING STEWARDS CHARITY CUP RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1350 METRES (296)

1 Great Honour (C L Cheung) - Slow to muster speed.
2 Esteeming (Apprentice Tesuri) - Apprentice Tesuri was severely reprimanded for failing to ride fully to the winning post. His actions did not affect the result of the race.
8 Happy Cat (H B Cho) - Was leaning on the side of the barrier stall when the gates were released, and was then inconvenienced by 4 Fantastic Fortune which shifted out, as a result lost ground. Performed below market expectations. Rider stated that he had been instructed to stay wide, and his mount resented the kickback and for this reason did not race truly. He was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner in which he shifted his mount out after passing the 400 metres when barely clear of 9 Vector. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Vector (K H Yu) - Shortly after the start had to be steadied when tightened for room between 2 Esteeming, which shifted in and away from 5 Treasurelakebuddy, and 3 Harapan which shifted out after being brushed by 6 Organic Winner. Was eased down in the straight. Rider stated that his mount resented the kickback. Beaten in excess of 25 lengths. Trainer W H Tse was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial. The trainer was also informed that he would be required to present 9 Vector to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 23 July 2023
