Race Report

RACE-1 THE WENTWORTH RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1050 METRES (6)

1 Bravo Flyer (K H Yu) - On jumping away was hampered when tightened for room between 4 Shaibanat and 6 Handsome Joyful which was taken out by 2 Desi Master which shifted out. As a result lost ground. Rider K H Yu was severely reprimanded for failing to ride his mount fully to the winning post and notified that further action would be taken against him if he re-offends without legitimate reason.
2 Desi Master (C Perkins) - Unplaced equal favorite. Rider stated he was instructed to lead, however due to the speed in the event he was unable to do so. He said this resulted in him settling further back than anticipated. He said this resulted in his mount failing to run on as he would have expected.
4 Shaibanat (L Corrales) - Was marginally slow to begin and was then hampered when tightened for room. As a result lost ground. Unplaced equal favorite. A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that the normal stand down period applies and 4 Shaibanat will be required to undergo an Official Barrier Trial and a Veterinary Clearance must be produced prior to racing again. A swab sample was taken for analysis.
5 Vector (R Maia) - After jumping away was bumped by 4 Shaibanat and taken out off its course.
6 Handsome Joyful (S Nakano) - At the start was taken out off its course by 2 Desi Master which jumped outwards. Trainer M C Tam attributed today’s improved performance to a drop in distance which was more suitable than longer distances that the gelding had raced over its two most recent starts.
10 Da Fa Loi (Apprentice Tesuri) - Raced very wide without cover.
