Race Report

RACE-4 THE LAMMA ISLAND RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1500 METRES (240)

4 Wyoming (A Calder) –Prior to the event, Trainer P Leyshan informed the Stewards that he would instruct the rider to settle the gelding more forward today because, at its most recent run, it had settled further back however failed to run on. Settled in a handy position.
5 Danpaoshaq (B Yamzon) –Approaching the 1400 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 10 General's Steed which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. Jockey L Salles the rider of 10 General's Steed was informed that he must exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
7 Hongkong Winepro (C Perkins) – Approaching the 1200 metres had to be restrained when racing close to the heels of 9 River Treasure. After passing the 600 metres had to be restrained off the heels of 9 River Treasure which was being steadied momentarily. Rider C Perkins was fined the sum of HK$1000 for failing to Weigh In.
10 General's Steed (L Salles) –Raced wide for the majority of the race. After passing the 200 metres was inconvenienced by 11 Treasure Smile which was taken out by 7 Hongkong Winepro which shifted out. Jockey C Perkins was reprimanded and notified that he must exercise far more care when shifting ground in future. A veterinary of 10 General's Steed which was eased down from the 100 metres failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Jockey L Salles reported that in his opinion his mount prefers a firmer track than that of today.
12 Rosary Diamond (R Curatolo) – A post race veterinary examination of 12 Rosary Diamond which was eased down in the straight failed to reveal any significant. Rider stated the horse never travelled at any stage of the race and for this reason he eased it down at the top of the straight. Trainer K M Chin was informed that the horse, which was beaten 38 lengths, will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial at which time it must be competitive.
14 Magician Code (A Aucharuz) –Was slow to begin.
