Race Report

RACE-1 ICBC (MACAU) CHARITY TROPHY RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (188)

1 Accelera (W L Ho) –Was marginally slow to begin and then had to be checked when tightened for room between 8 Rockin Laser and 3 Power Savabeel which shifted out. Raced four wide without cover throughout the event. Rider could offer no real excuses for the disappointing performance other than that his mount failed to respond to his urgings. A post race veterinary failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Diamond Admire (M Cangas) – Poor performance. Rider reported the gelding compounded from the 800 metres and did not respond to his urgings. A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was lame in the left foreleg. Trainer Pat Lee was informed that gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
7 Strong Wind (C F Chan) –Jumped away awkwardly and was under hard riding, however tailed off throughout the event. Disappointing performance. Rider stated his mount did not feel right in its action. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K Seo was informed that he will be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 13th March 2016 and in addition he was informed that 7 Stong Wind will be required to pass a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again and at which time it must be competitive.
8 Rockin Laser (B Yamzon) –Jumped away awkwardly and then became unbalanced after being bumped by 1 Accelera. Rider B Yamzon could offer no excuses for the colt’s performance however stated it never travelled well throughout the event.
10 Cheerful Companion (A Aucharuz) –After passing the 1300 metres was hampered and had to be steadied off the heels of 6 Smart Ebony which shifted out before being straightened by its rider.
12 Shadow Master (W H Lao) –Was eased down over the concluding stages. Jockey W H Lao was spoken to by the Stewards and reminded of his obligations to ride all his mount hands and heels to the line whenever possible.
