Race Report

RACE-5 THE CHERRY BLOSSOM RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1350 METRES (11)

4 Happy Prodigal Son (H Lam) –Was caught wide before obtaining the lead after passing the 800 metres.
6 Hot Fortune (R Stewart) –Over raced during the early and middle stages.
7 Charity Group (M Cangas) –Was marginally slow to begin and then got its head up losing further ground.
8 Grand Double Win (C F Wong) –Stood in the barriers when the gates were released losing significant ground and tailed the field throughout the event; Trainer Y C Fung was informed the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial at which time it must jump with the field and be competitive.
9 Happy And Healthy (W T Pao) –Was slightly slow to begin.
10 Speed Of King (Apprentice Y M Choi)- Prior to this event Trainer K M Chin notified the Stewards that due to the gelding drawing a wide alley, he would be instructing the rider to settle further back in the field; Settled towards the rear of the field; Was disappointing; Rider reported that his mount resented the kick back; Trainer K M Chin was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 26th September 2015.
12 Happiness In Peace (J Cordero) – Rider J Cordero (1st offence) was issued with a fine of HK$500 after accidentally dropping his whip near the 300 metres.

VETERINARY:
10 Speed Of King (Apprentice Y M Choi) – A post race of 10 Speed Of King which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
