Race Report

RACE-6 THE GOSFORD RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1050 METRES (48)

1 Sharon Star (C F Wong) –Prior to the race Trainer K C Chong advised he would instruct his rider to attempt to go forward on the horse, however if he was unable to do so to obtain a position with cover. After jumping away was brushed by 4 Arabian Hawk which shifted out and became unbalanced and then failed to muster sufficient speed to obtain a forward position and as a result settled worse than mid field with cover.
2 Great China (L Salles) –After jumping away shifted out and had to be checked over the heels of 11 Nusrah. Shortly after straightening had to be steadied when racing close to the heels of 3 I Told You So.
3 I Told You So (L Corrales) –Knuckled badly on jumping away.
4 Arabian Hawk (K H Yu) –Raced wide without cover throughout. Poor performance. Rider reported that rounding the first turn he was taken out by runners on his inside and he then received kickback from the runners in front and thereafter his mount failed to respond when placed under pressure. A post race veterinary examination ordered by the Stewards failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Diamond Rocket (A Calder) –Was marginally slow to begin.
8 Grand Double Win (W H Lao) –On jumping away threw its head in the air and lost ground.
12 Woodney (R Stewart) –Raced wide without cover.
