Race Report

RACE-4 THE BRENTFORD RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1200 METRES (106)

1 YANSON (Apprentice K Y Wong) –Was marginally slow to begin.
4 I TOLD YOU SO (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Proved very difficult to load. Trainer K M Chin was informed that a warning had been placed on the gelding and should it perform in a similar manner in future further action may be taken.
7 GREAT CHINA (C F Chan) –Was resaddled on arrival at the barriers. Was slow to begin.
8 TUHAO POWER (H Lam) – Rider was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance today.
12 MISSION GDRAGON (W L Ho) –Was marginally slow to begin.
13 SHARON STAR (C Perkins) –Near the 400 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of 4 which shifted in before being straightened by its rider.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Jockey R Curatolo the rider of 10 CHAIRMAN'S VOTE pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 1000 metres he made insufficient effort to prevent his mount shifting in resulting in 12 MISSION GDRAGON (W L Ho) being tightened for room between that gelding and 13 SHARON STAR (C Perkins), becoming extremely unbalanced and then having to the checked off the heels of 10 CHAIRMAN'S VOTE. Jockey R Curatolo’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of two racemeetings, 30th January and 5th February 2016 to be served cumulatively with his upcoming suspension which commences on the 16th of January 2016. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards deemed the interference to be in the low range and took into account his guilty plea and his recent record. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey W L Ho the rider of 12 MISSION GDRAGON was charged with careless riding under the provision of MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 600 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 13 SHARON STAR (C Perkins) which was tightened for room losing its rightful running and had to be checked. Jockey W L Ho’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of three racemeetings, covering the meetings of 8th, 15th and 16th January 2016. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards deemed the interference to be in the high range and took into account his record in respect to this rule and mitigating circumstances. He was advised of his Right of Appeal. He was also issued a severe reprimand for the manner in which he conducted
