Race Report

RACE-1 THE URUMQI RATING MAIDEN () 1000 METRES (170)

1 Honest Boy (H Lam) –Was slow to begin, then had to be checked when tightened for room between 8 Lucky And Strong which shifted in and 6 River Treasure which shifted out after being brushed by 9 Lucky And Fortune.
4 The Imperial (D Chong) – Unable to be loaded and was subsequently withdrawn at 2:03pm by the order of the Stewards. Trainer K M Chin was informed that the horse will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial before being permitted to race again.
5 Alway Better (W L Ho) –Commenced to over race for some distance approaching and passing the 800 metres. Performed below market expectations. Rider explained that it was the gelding’s first start on the turf and he was of the opinion that it would improve from the run. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality and a swab sample was taken from the gelding for analysis.
7 Full Class (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Laid out in the straight with its rider having to stop ridding and straighten on a number of occasions.
10 Man From The Bay (C Perkins) –Trainer advised that he would be instructing rider C Perkins to settle the gelding in a mid field position in an attempt to finish off the race. After being slow to begin settled in a mid field position.
12 Windsor Arch Two (C F Wong) –Was marginally slow to begin.
