Race Report

RACE-4 THE BOSTON RATING 70-45 (CLASS 3) 1200 METRES (215)

1 Gem Glory (L Corrales) -Bumped by 8 Dutch Shell on jumping away.
2 Gunstigmaster (S Ladjadj) -Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 900 metres when racing fiercely had to be steadied away from the heels of 9 Mountain Eagle which shifted in. Rider reported that his mount did not travel comfortably throughout and in his opinion did not appreciate the good to firm track condition. The Stewards noted his explanation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer C W Choi was informed that he would be required to present 2 Gunstigmaster to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 3 May 2020.
5 Sacred Magnate (W L Ho) -Near the 800 metres when the pace of the race slowed had to be eased away from the heels of 11 Striking Brahma and shifted in making contact with 7 Trophy Cabinet. A short distance later was then taken wider on the track by 7 Trophy Cabinet which was taken out when bumped by 8 Dutch Shell which when over racing shifted out slightly. Leaving the 150 metres was inclined to lay out under pressure.
6 Rose Hero (B Yamzon) -In the home straight had a tendency to shift out under pressure. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Trophy Cabinet (S Nakano) -Near the 800 metres was bumped by 5 Sacred Magnate which shifted in. A short distance later was bumped by 8 Dutch Shell which when racing fiercely shifted out slightly.
8 Dutch Shell (W H Lao) -Jumped away awkwardly and bumped 1 Gem Glory.
10 Star Of Yiu Cheung (H Lam) -Was marginally slow to begin. Leaving the 800 metres when racing fiercely shifted out slightly and had to be eased away from the heels of 1 Gem Glory which at the same time shifted in slightly. A short distance later had to be eased away from the heels of 1 Gem Glory which shifted in. After considering all of the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise Jockey L Corrales the rider of 1 Gem Glory to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
11 Striking Brahma (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Raced wide without cover until leaving 600 metres. Leaving the 200 metres was inclined to lay out under pressure.
12 Rivalry (M Tanaka) - Knuckled on jumping away. Leaving the 1100 metres was momentarily eased away from the heels of 4 Thehorseiswithme which shifted in slightly.
