Race Report

RACE-5 THE MANSFIELD RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1350 METRES (99)

2 White Debbie (W H Lao) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
3 Gem Glory (T Appie) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Oriental Profit (S Ladjadj) -Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
6 Sport Genius (M Tanaka) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Crown Of Gold (L Corrales) -Had tendency to lay out under pressure in the home straight. Over the concluding stages was inclined to shift out slightly away from 4 Top Mountainlegend and brushed with 9 Vescer which at the same time shifted in under pressure. Rider reported that 7 Crown Of Gold traveled keenly in the early stages and in his opinion this had contributed to its overall performance.
9 Vescer (F Henrique) -Over the concluding stages shifted in under pressure and brushed with 7 Crown Of Gold which at the same time was inclined to shift out slightly away from 4 Top Mountainlegend.
10 Go Fish Go (S Nakano) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer Pat Lee was informed that 10 Go Fish Go which was beaten 33.5 half lengths will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that the gelding has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Following the running of the race the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored to allow the Stewards an opportunity to review the patrols films over the concluding stages where 7 Crown Of Gold (L Corrales) and 9 Vescer (F Henrique) brushed. The Stewards also afforded Jockey L Corrales the rider of 7 Crown Of Gold an opportunity to review the patrol films and he stated that whilst there was a brush between both runners close to the winning post, he was of the opinion that whilst 9 Vescer was shifting in, his mount had a tendency to shift out and away from 4 Top Mountainlegend. He added he was of the view that there was a contributing shift from both runners and considering the incident took place close to the winning post, he did not wish to lodge an objection. The Stewards after reviewing the patrol footage also decided not to lodge an objection and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.
