Race Report

RACE-3 THE BERRIGAN RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1050 METRES (55)

1 Thanks Forever (B Yamzon) -Was fractious in the barriers on a number of occasions, and subsequently underwent veterinary examinations behind the barriers on each occasion and was passed fit to start. Scrambled badly on jumping away and lost considerable ground. Trainer N Moore was informed that 1 Thanks Forever will not be permitted to race for 11 days until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Fasuba (J B Hamel) -Brushed with 8 Rock To Road on jumping away.
4 Fortune Treasure (H Lam) -Was inclined to lay in rounding the home turn.
6 Gon Sai Baau (F Henrique) -Was slow into stride.
8 Rock To Road (W H Lao) -Brushed with 2 Fasuba on jumping away.
9 Victory Megastar (T Appie) -Was resaddled behind the barriers. Jumped away awkwardly.
11 Diamond Moonlight (Y M Choi) -Raced wide without cover throughout.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:

Following the running of the race, the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored to allow the Stewards the opportunity to review the video patrol films of the start to ascertain whether 1 Thanks Forever (B Yamzon) had been afforded a fair start. It was established that as the start was effected 1 Thanks Forever scrambled badly on jumping away and lost considerable ground. As the Stewards were satisfied that 1 Thanks Forever had been afforded a fair start, it was deemed a starter and correct weight was declared.
