RACE-5 THE WAGGA RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1200 METRES (15)
3 Vector (R Maia) - Slow into stride.
4 Winnie Star (A Da Silva) - Raced three wide without cover. Approaching the 700 metres, was bumped by 3 Vector and taken wider.
6 Desi Master (C Perkins) - Shortly after the start became slightly unbalanced when bumped by 2 Happy Whole Life. C Perkins explained when questioned that he had anticipated settling in fourth position. He said from his wide alley, he rode his mount along early however there was speed to his inside, and rather than get caught wide and in a speed battle, he elected to restrain his mount and obtain a position with cover. He said that he commenced to ride the gelding along from around the 500 metres, and it ran on fairly to the line. He highlighted that 6 Desi Master was backing up after racing last. After viewing the film C Perkins stated that it may not have been the right decison to elect to come back and find cover, and in hindsight it may have been a better choice to have pressed on and settled further forward than he did.
8 Topmountain King (C L Cheung) - After passing the 1000 metres was severely hampered when tightened for room by 5 Bravo Flyer, which initially shifted in and away from 7 Blasting Power, and brushed 8 Topmountain King. This resulted in 5 Bravo Flyer becoming badly turned and the rider being unable to relieve the pressure to Topmountain King.
9 Numberone Mingxuan (M Tanaka) - Passing the 300 metres, rider became unbalanced when attempting to shift his horse out and away from 5 Bravo Flyer.
11 Destiny Flight (K F Choi) - Resaddled behind barriers.
RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Stewards inquired into an incident passing the 900 metres. S H Huang pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132(i) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in, resulting in 8 being tightened for room, losing his rightful running and having to be checked. S H Huang had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 race day, covering the racemeeting of Saturday 4 November 2023, and fined the sum of HKD 2,000. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account all the circumstances, the guilty plea and S H Huang’s riding record. He was advised of his rights of appeal.
Persons under 18 years of age and any others to be refused entry into betting centers are prohibited from gambling and entering Cashbet Centers.
