Race Report

RACE-2 THE THURLES RATING 40-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1800 METRES (27)

1 Happy Cat (S Nakano) - Raced ungenerously in the back straight when the pace steadied.
2 Ronson (C L Cheung) - For some distance after passing the 900 metres, was brushed on several occasions by 6 Good Match which had improved tight to that gelding’s outside.
3 Tian Shan Love (K F Choi) - Marginally slow to begin.
9 Blitzer (L Corrales) - After passing the winning post on the first occasion, raced in restricted room for a short distance to the inside of 10 Spicy Again which shifted in slightly before being corrected by its rider. After passing the 1300 metres, had to be restrained when tightened for room by 10 Spicy Again (Apprentice Tesuri) which was taken in when racing tight to the inside of the heels of 2 Ronson (C L Cheung) which may have shifted in. On the film footage available, Stewards could not be satisfied that any one rider was responsible for this incident and consequently notified both riders to ensure they leave sufficient room for runners to the inside at all times. Approaching the 1000 metres, got its head and raced very ungenerously when awkwardly placed between runners.
10 Spicy Again (Apprentice Tesuri) - After entering the back straight became unbalanced after improving to the inside of the heels of 1 Happy Cat where there was insufficient room.
