Race Report

RACE-2 THE HAWKESBURY RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1500 METRES (32)

2 Cheers Brothers (Apprentice X C Liang) - After passing the 300 metres, rolled in marginally and was taken out by 11 Sheng Li Bao which was attempting a run between that gelding and 1 Cumberbatch.
3 Famous Rainbow (R Maia) - Shifted out when struck with the whip after passing the 300 metres. Inside the 50 metres, whilst being ridden along shifted out and away from 7 Day Day Supreme and was brushed on the hind quarters by that gelding. Rider R Maia was severely reprimanded for accidentally dropping his whip near the 100 metres.
4 Hostwin Saturn (C L Cheung) - Very slow to begin (3L). A warning was placed on the gelding. Was held up from the 150 metres until passing the 100 metres, and again from 50 metres until the winning post, and as a result went to a line not fully tested.
6 Handsome Alloy (I Poullis) - Raced wide before obtaining cover near the 900 metres.
7 Day Day Supreme (A Da Silva) - Was held up when disappointed for a run approaching the 300 metres and was then inconvenienced near the 150 metres when tightened for room between 3 Famous Rainbow and 5 Precious Asset which shifted out slightly.
8 Who'S Clang (C Perkins) - Raced keenly for a short distance rounding the turn near 1250 metres.
10 Zhi You Bing Mao (Apprentice Tesuri) - Was taken wide rounding the home turn by 2 Cheers Brothers which had shifted out to improve to the outside of 6 Handsome Alloy.
12 Association Eight (M Tanaka) - After entering the home straight, raced in restrict room to the inside of 5 Precious Asset.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Prior to correct weight, S H Cheong, Trainer of 3 Famous Rainbow the fourth placegetter, viewed the patrol film and lodged an objection against 7 Day Day Supreme being declared the third placegetter on the grounds of alleged interference over the concluding stages. On the evidence, it was established that approaching winning post, 3 Famous Rainbow which was shifting out and away from 7 Day Day Supreme was brushed on the hind quarters by that gelding. Stewards were not of the view that the incident affected the result of the race and correct weight was declared on the judges’ placings.
