Race Report

RACE-3 THE MONTE DA GUIA RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1500 METRES (3)

2 Rush'N Prince (Apprentice K Y Wong) –On jumping away was taken out onto 11 Yummy Yummy by 7 Tron General which shifted out before being straightened by its rider.
3 Florence Baby (M Cangas) – Commencing the turn near the 1200 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 7 Tron General which shifted out slightly when over racing; Dipped near the 200 metres; Rider reported that his mount did not appreciate today’s firm track conditions.
4 Red King (J Cordero) – Shortly after the start had o be checked when tightened for room when between 1 Golden Fifty Six and 9 Lionheart Man both of which shifted ground.
5 Diamond Admire (C F Wong) –Raced three wide without cover.
7 Tron General (R Stewart) – Approaching the 1400 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between 12 River Amazing and 2 Rush'N Prince; Disappointing; Rider reported he had concerns with his mount’s action and it was making respiratory noises over the concluding stages; He was of the opinion that the horse may need more give in the ground; A post race veterinary examination and swab was ordered by the Stewards.
10 Modena World (C F Chan) –Near the 250 metres had to steadied and shifted out when close to heels; Raced wide without cover.
12 River Amazing (K W Leong) – Raced keenly through the early and middle stages; Rider was issued with a fine of HK$1000 for making a celebratory gesture before the finish.

VETERINARY:
7 Tron General (R Stewart) – A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was making abnormal respiratory noises.
